A new chapter enriches the collaboration between Veneroni and Fri-El Green Power, an Italian company operating in Ethiopia since 2007 with the aim of making 30,000 hectares of land available for large-scale cultivation of plantations and food crops.
After creating irrigation systems for large-scale cotton areas, Fri-El Green Power has again chosen Veneroni for the construction of a specific pumping station for the irrigation of large banana plantations.
Banana trees, native to tropical areas, are used to receiving constant amounts of rain for long periods of the year. To create a crop, in an area with dry seasons such as Ethiopia, it is necessary to deploy irrigation systems, to keep the soil constantly moist.
The plant consists of three SBN mixed flow pumps with a total flow rate of 3,000 l / s and a head of 10 m, taking advantage of the nearby Omo river’s waters.
